Assad al- Achi is a Syrian economist and civil society activist born in Damascus. Founding member of the Local Coordination Committees in Syria, Assaad joined the revolutionary movement in Syria early on both the activism and mobilization level, and the political level. He joined the Syrian National Council in December 2011 and helped establish the Assistance Coordination Unit of the Syrian Opposition Coalition in December 2012.He is also founding member of the Syrian Nonviolence Movement and Freedom Days activist platform. He graduated from the American University of Beirut with a Bachelor in Business Administration and an MBA from INSEAD.
