2022 Annual Report

Baytna began 2022 with renewed vigor and a commitment to achieving even greater and more impactful results. The year proved to be a success, with the workflow progressing smoothly in terms of legal compliance, as all employees obtained work residencies in Belgium. Despite the challenges encountered in 2021, significant strides were made in capacity building, networking, and training activities. These achievements have laid a strong foundation for the program's future endeavors, specifically in the promotion of civil liberties and advancing the causes of Women, Peace and Security.

In Baytna Inline, call for proposals was published privately to the initial list of grassroots partners. 52 proposals were reviewed and 27 were awarded small grants. The work plan of the expert in Women, Peace and Security for women has been reviewed, and a public call for proposal based on the expert’s research was launched. 84 project proposals were received and reviewed out of which 4 were awarded. Four training workshop on the Community Dialogue Approach (CDA) for Voices of Hope project CSOs partners was conducted. Conducting 10 civic education training workshops in all areas.

Baytna Outline launched the Youth Empowerment - Giving Back - Outreach Grants projects to expand support to Baytna’s partners inside Syria by reaching out to Syrians outside Syria as well as other individuals and organizations interested in assisting civil society. Baytna targeted 10 to 15 men and women – from universities in neighboring countries such as Turkey and Lebanon.

In Baytna Online, During this year we have published 1’245 job vacancies with 19’792 views, 90 Events with 2’763 views, 42 scholarships with 4’672 views and 99 articles with 1’843 views. Gained 39’154 more likes on Facebook page and a total of “315’893 like” with a post reach of “5’278’404” and a total of “146’697” engaged users. Another 100 articles were translated from English to Arabic covering many themes like “Self-Development, Human Rights, Soft Skills, University Education, Civil Society, Management, Democracy…”.
