Capacity Building Officer

May 16, 2022 - The Capacity Building Officer serves as a focal point and is responsible for the overall coordination and management of all capacity building and networking activities within Syria, as well as coordination with the Baytna program outside Syria. He/she is in charge of ensuring the quality and timely delivery of key programs. The Capacity Building Officer reports directly to the Project Manager for the effective execution of all responsibilities.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

1.    In coordination with the program coordinator inside Syria, conduct an assessment of training needs and opportunities with beneficiaries under various titles and models (training of trainers (TOT), distance learning, online platforms).

2.    Design, prepare and review training materials and tools.

3.    Prepare a capacity building plan for Baytna's partners in Syria in collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation team, and under the supervision of the project manager.

4.    Support the development of the Baytna strategy and propose new interventions to work both inside and outside Syria.

5.    Assist in the selection of trainers, facilitators, and experts by conducting interviews with them, documenting the interviews, and completing the contracting process, in collaboration with the program coordinator and under the supervision of the project manager.

6.    Under the supervision of the project manager, prepare contracts for trainers, facilitators, and experts.

7.    Organize and supervise the implementation of capacity building programs, meetings, and sessions, as well as ensure that Baytna approved financial and programmatic measures are followed.

8.    Ensure that all reports and attachments submitted by Baytna’s funded trainers and facilitators inside Syria follow Baytna's internal policies and regulations.

9.    Ensure that the outputs related to training, meetings, and sessions are shared with Baytna.

10.  Write reports on training, meetings and sessions, in addition to periodic reports.

11. Coordinate between Baytna’s programs inside and outside Syria to ensure that beneficiaries participate in the planned trainings, meetings, and sessions.

12. Maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders, institutions, and partners to exchange information and propose solutions to any challenges that arise during project implementation to ensure that the desired results are achieved.

13. Perform other related duties.

Required qualifications:

1.    At least a university degree or a diploma;

2.    At least three years of experience working in a related position;

3.    Exceptional oral, written and presentation skills in Arabic;

4.    Good interpersonal skills;

5.    Advanced Computer skills: (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google sheets, Email);

6.    Able to work under pressure;

7.    Able to work effectively in a team environment;

Able to work on a full-time basis.

 

Location: Preferably based in north Syria.
