Baytna’s Various Learning Platforms Connect Syrian Students Everywhere

#International_Day_of_Education

January 24, 2023 - For the fourth year today, the world is celebrating the International Day of Education, for which UNESCO has chosen the motto "Changing Course, Transforming Education."

The recently published UNESCO World Report on the Future of Education indicated that a transformation in the future requires an urgent rebalancing of our relationships with each other and with nature, as well as with the technology that permeates our lives, bringing with it opportunities for progress on the one hand, and raising severe concerns for equity, inclusion, and democratic participation on the other.

In this regard, Baytna continues its work with Syrian students in unusual ways outside the school and university classrooms. For us, education is a tool for development, access, communication, and an opportunity for everyone to continue raising awareness of the Syrians' cause and their status in the host countries, under the ongoing situation of displacement, migration, and asylum.

In addition to this general goal, Baytna believes in the right of individuals to learn and achieve their aspirations, especially since many Syrian students are now deprived of access to educational institutions and to learning in normal situations. Therefore, Baytna offers students the option to learn through trainings and workshops, both online and in an interactive way between students and trainers. Baytna also opens the way for them to share their opinions and design their own projects, to help them in their professional and practical future. Baytna additionally connects Syrian students in exile to a network to communicate with their peers inside Syria to learn from them and with them, share experiences, and help each other to complete projects and supplement skills.

Baytna also provides a free and open e-learning Online platform for anyone who wishes to gain knowledge and various skills, as we told you about in our recent blog.

On the International Day of Education, Baytna continues its endeavor to provide education to all Syrians in all possible ways, to make a difference in the world and to affect the structure of educational institutions that themselves need sweeping change and the ability to reach all people.
